Hear The London Philharmonic Play The Theme from Modern Warfare 2

Author: Unit 734 | Date: 0001.01.01

This is pretty cool. The London Philharmonic Orchestra is preparing to launch an album of video game music—the tracklist is a good combination of classic tunes (Zelda) and unexpected hits (Angry Birds). The project’s overseers, the pg123 X5 Music Group, are currently streaming the Philharmonic’s version of Hans Zimmer’s theme from Modern Warfare 2, which you can listen to in the embedded track below. I’ve listened to a bunch of the rest of the album, the MW2 track is actually one of the weaker ones, in my opinion. (Though I think I’m on the record as not having loved that game’s soundtrack). On the whole, the album is very good—great music played by one of the world’s great performing ensembles.
