Haven’t finished your Christmas shopping yet? No worries, you still have plenty of time left to finish! And you still have plenty of time to do it in a big way. This year you have the power to give gifts to more people than the ones that are just on your ‘to shop for’ list. This Christmas you can give gifts that keep on giving and help women, children and men all over the world… I’ve compiled a list of companies that give back not only during the holiday season but year round. With these companies, you can give a gift AND give back. They’re the gifts that keep on giving. So, this Christmas shop at:
It’s only November 16th, and I’m ready to put up my Christmas tree. Is it acceptable to put up a Christmas tree before Thanksgiving? I’m not sure, but the holiday spirit has hit me early this year, and I’m ready to be in full swing, baking Christmas cookies, decorating gingerbread houses and belting Christmas carols. At least I can start putting together my gift guides! For everyone thinking it’s too early for even gift guides, I’ll beg to differ on that one! I love posting my gift guides before Thanksgiving for all of my deal hunters out there looking to do their Christmas shopping on Black Friday, so be sure to check back in the coming weeks for more gift guides!
As I mentioned in last Wednesday’s post The Photographer is My Boyfriend, this post is a collaboration with Tyler, who diligently helped me search the web for the best gifts for your boyfriend, husband, brother, cousin, etc. I loved having him on the team for this one, because let’s be honest, I can pretend that I know what a guy would want, but who ever really knows what’s going on in their heads?
So, these gifts were hand picked by Tyler. Some things he has, some I have gifted him and some are on his wish list this year!
Happy Monday! This past weekend Katie and I took our second trip to the apple orchard this season, and we had a blast! We tried out a few DIY pumpkin decorations that we found on Pinterest, and Katie’s went a little bit better than mine did. I was a bit ambitious!? Painting a pumpkin plaid takes a lot more time than you’d think, okay? With enough time, I’ll finish, I swear.
The forecast called for rain while we were at the orchard, so we wore our rain boots and bundled up. I’ve been obsessed with this plaid open-front poncho I found at Old Navy, so I’m wearing it ever chance that I get. It’s comfy, warm and easy to throw on. Apparently I’m not the only one obsessing, because when Ty and I got home from buying my plaid poncho, I spotted it on a fellow blogger on Instagram! Ponchos and plaid. What screams fall more than that?
As for Sunday, I’m pretty sure I never left my bed for more than an hour, but I’m a strong believer that we all need those kinds of days. In fact, be sure to check out one of my favorite bloggers Leah over at My Favorite Adventure, who just wrote a great post on taking care of yourself. It’s definitely a nice little reminder to carve some time out of our busy schedules for ourself.
I’d been searching for a floppy hat that I could wear on the beach all summer. When the 60 degree weather rolled around, my hopes of finding my perfect floppy hat were gone. Then I stumbled across this beauty – it was just a little different than I thought it’d be. Floppy hats aren’t just for the summer. This wool hat is the perfect accessory for the fall. Paired with a clean pair of jeans, booties, and a neutral shirt, I’ve got the perfect outfit, but the nice thing is, it’s a highly versatile accessories (AKA you’ll be seeing it again). The outfit possibilities are endless.
I showed off my hat for the first time this past Saturday for a casual walk and trip to Jamba Juice with Ty. He came to visit for a long weekend and is so obsessed with Jamba Juice. We went three times this weekend?! I tried the Razzmatazz and Caribbean Passion (make it Light!). He’s a die hard Strawberry Surf Rider fan. Yes, he got it all three times.
Saturday was just the first of many times I’ll be wearing this hat! I want to know:
